How a verse from the Bhagavad-Gītā nourishes the heart of a sādhaka in manjarī-bhāva

vyavasāyātmikā buddhir ekeha kuru-nandana
bahu-śākhā hy anantāś ca buddhayo ’vyavasāyinām
— Bhagavad-Gītā 2.41

“Resolute intelligence is only one in this process, O son of the Kurus. The intelligence of those who are irresolute has many branches and unlimited desires.”

Sometimes, one single verse fits like a key into the heart of a sādhaka. This verse is surely one of them.

For a sādhaka who has embraced the ideal of manjarī-bhāva — the quiet, intimate service to Śrīmatī Rādhikā under the guidance of Her eternal associates — life becomes focused on one single point:

“My sādhanā is to serve the lotus feet of my Iṣṭa-devī, Śrī Rādhikā, to remember Her, glorify Her — as revealed to me by Śrī Gurudeva. That is also my goal (sādhya).”

In this mood of devotion, there is no room for distractions, no thirst for mystical experiences, siddhis, or worldly fulfillment. Everything is centered on one flavor — the taste of serving love (seva-rasa) in the shadow of the nitya-siddha manjarīs.

“vyavasāyātmikā buddhir ekeha” — this ekā-buddhi, this one-pointed, resolute intelligence, is the sacred treasure of a sādhaka in manjarī-bhāva. There is no interest in other paths or goals. As Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura so beautifully puts it:

“My sādhanā is my sādhya. I cannot abandon it — not even in a dream. Whether there is joy or sorrow, whether saṁsāra ends or not — it does not matter. What matters is that my mind remains fixed in pure bhakti.”

For the sādhaka in manjarī-bhāva, this means:

• I live for Rādhikā’s service.
• I think only of Her.
• I serve Her under the guidance (anugatya) of my Gurudeva/Guru Manjari in my siddha-svarūpa.
• I want nothing else — not even mukti.
• My heart no longer branches off. It flows like a single stream.

When the mind scatters in a thousand directions — bahu-śākhā hy anantāś ca — we lose our inner focus. But the remedy is already given: a clear inner resolve.

“I am Her maidservant. For eternity.”

And that is the true meaning of vyavasāyātmikā buddhi: A laser-sharp intelligence, aimed at one single goal.

May we, by the grace of Śrī Guru and the Vaiṣṇavas, nourish this resolve — daily, gently, trustingly — until we realize at the end of the path:

• 👉 I never wavered.
• 👉 I never desired anything else.
• 👉 I was always Hers.
