Snippets Of Nectar

Some wonderful points from Sripad Prem Gopal Goswami Ji’s lecture in our house that I want to share:

1) If the devotee has no fixed goal (like manjari bhava for example, attaining perfection), we will experience a certain tiredness, a certain unhappiness in bhajan and taste will go away.

We need a main goal and step-by-step goals “on the way” to our main goal (increasing of our japa, reading, seva, etc…).

If we jump to the highest goal to fast and too unnatural, we will experience pressure and it will backfire. Step by step, with the main goal always in plain sight (manjari svarupa).

2) We can only attain pure love for Krishna through the lotus feet of Svamini. Without Svamini’s kripa, we can never attain prema.

3) First we will realize and get glimpses of our svarupa. Then we will see our beloved guru manjari. She will literally take us by our hand and introduce us to Rupa Manjari and Ananga Manjari.

Svamini will say: “Who is this wonderful kinkari? Where does she come from?”

Rupa Manjari will then reply: “She was recommended to us by ___________ manjari (name of our guru manjari). She is very humble, loving, sweet and eager to serve you with her life.”

And Svamini will be very pleased.

4) Kinkari means “not waiting to be ordered”. The uniqueness of a Kinkari is that she knows what needs to be done in advance.

Kinkari means the attitude “what can I do?”

5) We should not approach Gurudeva and ask for blessings. That is also selfish. We should try to PLEASE Gurudeva…and then, the smiling face of our Gurudeva is the blessing and we will advance.

All secrets of bhajan lie in pleasing Sri Gurudeva.
