Sometimes as devotees, we feel the need to belong to a certain society, a certain group, because the right association gives great strength.

The best society is oftentimes not great in numbers. 

The best society is one of similar emotions.

The best society is not dependent on a label or a name, but solely on the heart that yearns for prema.

Srila Rupa Goswamipada recommends that we should always pray for an association which is of two kinds: sajati and snigdha.
Sajati means devotees of a similar mood like ours and snigdha is even more important:
Devotees who are loving and with whom we can have loving exchanges. People we love and people who love us.

If we know which love for Radha and Krishna we want to cultivate, and if we pray for such an association mentioned above, we will find it.
We will recognize such association by the way we feel after we had such a loving exchange. It is always uplifting and it always helps us in moving forward.
