In praise of others

“Well, it’s hard to glorify others due to my intense pride. Even amongst friends you’ll find I sit and criticize. That’s what I do best, it’s how I forget my actual size. A leash that ties me to this world.” ( Raghunath Cappo )

To praise Vaishnavas is glorious and such a praise is called “Vaishnava mahima”.

In my life, I realized how important a certain Vaishnava really is. Of course, and this goes without saying, many Vaishnavas have been very important in my life, most of all my beloved Gurudeva.

But with this little note, I would love to praise and thank my dear friend Advaita Das.

Yesterday evening, I happened to note that we both have about nearly 38.000 Facebook- chats…that seemed to me incredible…what a number.

Quite honestly, I would not be where I am now (meaning in the shelter of my Gurudeva) were it not because of Advaita Ji´s serious efforts to translate and semi-publish the books of Radhakund Mahanta Sri Srimat Ananta das Babaji. I am sure I would never have met my Gurudeva.

I clearly remember the year 2000/2001 when I came into contact with him and I immediately ordered every book he had translated from my Gurudeva. At that time, it amounted to about 500 DM and he sent me all the books bound in spirals to my work place…and one day a huge parcel arrived, a treasure box of nectar. I never regretted one pfennig.

Many people praise me for my humble blog “Amrita Tarangini”, but all this praise should actually be aimed at mainly my Gurudeva and Advaita Ji (and at certain other great Vaishnavas).

Without Advaita Ji´s translations, I would never be able to publish or blog my Gurudeva´s words.

Up until today, like I mentioned the nearly 38.000 Facebook-chats, Advaita Ji always is available whenever I ask a question or whenever something comes up siddhanta-wise.

With much love and affection and sheer endless wisdom, he always directs me to the answers found in shastra. Guru-tattva is one. Siksha gurus can be many. I clearly see my Gurudeva working through him.

It is a blessing to have such a well-wishing friend, also because I cannot reach my Gurudeva so quickly by mail, chat or phone and I am not advanced enough to reach him directly through my heart (although sometimes it works).

I can´t even begin to count the endless chat-sessions where he taught me the essence of shastra on so many issues and I thank him from the heart for all that I could and still can learn.

We all need sajati and snigdha association, same mood and LOVING.

Dear Advaita Das, thank you from the core of my heart for all your love, help and PATIENCE.

Dandavat pranams, Tarun Govinda das
