The power of minding one´s own business

Radhe Radhe.

It really amazes me why so many devotees always look what the “others” do, do not, should do, should not do…

If a devotee is GENUINELY fixed in his own path, why would he care what “others” are doing?

In my life I could see that, the more I focus and worry about the “different others”, the more my own bhajan suffered due to my narrow mindedness and my arrogant desire to tell “them” what my tiny mind thinks is the best. This attitude is doomed. I experienced this “doom” many times…

There is no better or worse…all is a personal matter and personal matters are not THERE to be judged by someone else.

Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur wrote that if we see a religious person who is worshipping God according to his own tradition (Christian, Muslim, etc…) and we see how eager this person is practicing, we should not look down on this person, thinking about how much more advanced our own path is and how useless his endeavors are.

The Thakur wrote that we should actually INTEGRATE and APPLY the witnessed eagerness in OUR OWN bhakti-practice.

The more we focus on the differences, the more differences will come to exist.

The more we focus on our common things, the more unifying seeds will be sown.
